Live art at The Registers
Chris Stewart Group commissioned local Edinburgh artist and founder of the Hidden Door Festival David Martin to create a seven metre high piece of art live and in situ at 42 St Andrew Square. Taking inspiration from the interior of the beautiful art deco banking hall, David created a visually stunning piece of art over a number of weeks during the Edinburgh Festival.
The painting, echoing the striking top lit atrium inside the building and featuring a single girl facing towards the door, hung at the entrance to 42 St Andrew Square for a number of months following its completion in advance of David’s exhibition at the Open Eye Gallery.
Chris Stewart Group hopes to reuse the painting within The Registers redevelopment once the works have completed.
