The Devil’s Advocate, Advocate’s Close, Edinburgh
Located in the heart of Chris Stewart Group’s award-winning Advocate’s Close development, The Devil’s Advocate opened its doors in 2013 and has become a very popular, well known – and well-hidden – addition to the Edinburgh food and drink scene.
The bar occupies the former pump house of the Evening News print rooms and much of the original character of the building has been maintained – the remnants of former staircases have been exposed and timber beams have been reclaimed and used for the bar and table tops. Industrial-style lighting and exposed brick adds to the atmosphere.
Shortlisted for the 2015 GQ Bar of the Year award, The Devil’s Advocate bar holds an eclectic collection of Scottish and world whiskies and the multiple award winning bartenders also serve inventive seasonal cocktails, a considered wine list and selected craft beers. In addition, the kitchen team consistently create lunch and dinner menus that hold true to the quality, seasonal Scottish produce whilst providing a modern dining experience.
